Enrolling Your Family on the Health & Dental Plan
Part-time degree students may enroll their spouse (including a common-law or same sex partner) and/or your dependents/children under the age of 21 years old on to the plans at the beginning of your first eligible term. All family members enrolled for coverage under this plan must be residents of Canada.
Students enrolled in the Winter 2017 term can add on a dependent to the Plan by Friday February 3, 2017 at 5p.m.
Students starting in Winter 2017:
To add a spouse or one child onto the Health & Dental Plan, the additional fee is $153.33
To add a family onto the Health & Dental Plan, the additional fee is $210.00
*Coverage runs through August 31, 2017
Dependents/children include: Unmarried children, stepchildren and legally adopted children who reside with you and are dependent upon you for support and are:
- Younger than age 21;
- Age 21 and up to 25 years of age and in full-time/part-time attendance at an accredited institute of learning and dependent on you for support; or
- Twenty-one (21) years or older and mentally or physically disabled and incapable of self-sustaining employment who was insured under this policy as a dependent on the day prior to their 25th birthday and remains a dependent on you for support. A dependent child who is no longer eligible for benefits under your Green Shield Group Benefits Program may also enrol in the Green Shield Group Conversion Program.
